A versatile, post-harvest process and apparatus is disclosed for the on-sitedecontamination ofcereals, pseudocereals , grains, nuts, seeds and/or plant materials usingozonised water. Thison-site treatment of agricultural crops, preferably, cereals, grains, nuts,seeds and/or plant materialsto reduce the presence of undesirable microorganisms and their toxins, usesozonisedwater as a disinfectant. This treatment may be applied in conjunction with anacid or a base,temperature controls, drying , and/or addition of other additives to theozonised water. This processand apparatus can replace conventional systems, and the apparatus can bemodified andadopted to meet various on-site agricultural systems. This invention isadvantageous to foodsafety, seed germination, and more importantly the food production and storageprocess.
