PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce zinc oxide which is uniform in shape and size and has such a structure that two almost-hemispheric bodies are joined to each other on at least a part of each others bottom surface, particularly, the structure similar to that of a hamburger.SOLUTION: A method for producing zinc oxide comprises the steps of: mixing a zinc compound with an amine compound in an aqueous solution adjusting the pH of the resulting aqueous solution to &ge7 to produce a precipitate and heating the precipitate-produced aqueous solution to &ge40°C.
