A peripherally implanted polymer scaffold having a high degree of recoil is worked to reduce recoil in the scaffold when initially deployed at a target lesion in the body. The scaffold is plastically deformed from a crimped state to an expanded state by a balloon catheter. The scaffold is contained within a sheath to prevent recoil up until the point of use. Before the scaffold is introduced to the body, the restraining sheath is removed from the scaffold.Linvention concerne un échafaudage polymère, implanté par voie périphérique, ayant un haut degré de recul, qui est conçu pour réduire un recul dans léchafaudage lorsquil est déployé initialement au niveau dune lésion cible dans le corps. Léchafaudage est déformé plastiquement dun état serti à un état étendu par un cathéter à ballonnet. Léchafaudage est contenu à lintérieur dune gaine pour empêcher un recul jusquau point dutilisation. Avant lintroduction de léchafaudage dans le corps, la gaine de limitation est retirée de léchafaudage.
