A syringe (100) includes a plunger (102) having a plunger tube (150) with proximal and distal ends, a center tube (152) with a center passage that extends within the plunger tube (150), and a balloon (154) disposed over the center tube (152) and sealingly fixed to at least one of the center tube (152) and the plunger tube (150).
