Disclosed is a 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) water-soluble granule formulation , comprising components with the following weight percentage: 5-80% 2,4-D salt (calculated as 2,4-D acid)； and a water-soluble inorganic salt (e.g. ammonium phosphate, ammonim nitrate, ammonium chloride, potassium phosphate, etc.) as the balance. The 2,4-D water-soluble granule is suitable as a herbicide for controlling annual or perennial gramineae weeds and certain broadleaved weeds in soybean fields and other Leguminosae fields, such as amaranth, knotweed, goosefoot, nightshade, Xanthium sibiricum, barnyard grass, green bristle grass, crabgrass, glutinous millet, etc. Also disclosed is a method for the preparation of the water-soluble granule formulation which does not require a surfactant or a binder.
