PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein it is conventionally impossible for a user to recognize a necessary range to be scanned with a receiver for a specified region of characteristic information specified by a user.SOLUTION: The subject information acquisition apparatus includes: the receiver for receiving an acoustic wave and converting the acoustic wave into an electric signal a scanning control part for scanning the receiver in at least one direction and a display control part.
