PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying a polyphenol-containing composition that is excellently safe and can effectively achieve decoloration, elimination of bitter tastes, and the like without decreasing the content of polyphenol.
SOLUTION: The purification method of the polyphenol-containing composition comprises bringing the composition into contact with a low-temperature treated activated carbon. The low-temperature treatment is carried out at -50°C to +10°C for 20 min to 48 hr.
