Novel neovascularization inhibitory factorsand neovascularization inhibitors useful inpreventing and treating various diseases inassociation with neovascularization. Theseneovascularization inhibitors contain as the activeingredient polypeptides with the followingdefinition (a) or (b) : (a) a polypeptide having anamino acid sequence of PyrGlu32-Val478 in HGF(hepatocyte growth factor)； or (b) a polypeptidehaving an amino acid sequence derived from the aminoacid sequence as defined in (a) by deletion,substitution or addition of one or several aminoacids and having an antagonism to the effect of HGFvia c-Met-HGF receptor.
