This invention provides a oil-in-water type emulsified composition containing a low solubility, oil-soluble ultraviolet ray absorbing agent and having excellent stability. The oil-in-water type emulsified composition contains: (a) a water dispersion of oil-soluble ultra violet ray absorbing agent, (b) a non-ionic surfactant, (c) a water-swelling clay mineral, and (d) a higher fatty acid. The component (a) is preferably a water dispersion of a composite particle of the oil-soluble ultra violet ray absorbing agent and an organic polymer.本發明係提供一種水中油型乳化組成物,其含有低溶解度之油溶性紫外線吸收劑,且安定性亦優異。該水中油型乳化組成物係含有:(a)油溶性紫外線吸收劑之水分散物、(b)選自非離子性界面活性劑及脂肪酸皂之1種或2種以上的化合物、(c)水膨潤性黏土礦物及(d)高級脂肪酸。前述成分(a)以油溶性紫外線吸收劑與有機聚合物的複合物粒子之水分散物為佳。
