A pressurizing unit (10) applies atmospheric overpressure to fluid discharged from container. The control system adjusting height of stand is designed to adjust irrigation pressure and atmospheric overpressure applied to fluid. An independent claim is included for a method for controlling the device for use in eye surgery.
