PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem involved in a conventional device in a method for data presentation to a user and user-friendliness.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition device includes a plurality of conversion elements for receiving an acoustic wave generated in a subject when light from a light source is irradiated and converting it to a plurality of reception signals, and a processing part for acquiring a characteristic distribution indicating a distribution of characteristic information corresponding to each of a plurality of positions in the subject using the plurality of reception signals.
