The assembly has a protection element with cooperating retention parts for fixing the hand grip of the medical instrument in the protection element. A cavity is formed by a wall for protecting the operational part of the medical instrument. The assembly further has a cleaning assist element with a tubular shape and being fixable to the wall of the protection element.
