A clamping device 10 comprises a body 30, a clamping arrangement in the body for clamping a flexible elongate member. A first cooperating formation 36 on the body cooperates with a second cooperating formation (18, figure 1) of a support arrangement 14 to support the clamping device. The first cooperating formation comprises a pair of opposed side portions 38A and a bridging portion 38B extending between the side portions. The support arrangement may comprise a plurality of second cooperating formations arranged one above the other. A securing assembly having all the above features may further comprise a protecting device for protecting the elongate member from damage. The protecting device is claimed as a separate invention, the protecting device having first and second channels to receive the elongate member, the channel portions being separated by a gap.
