The invention relates to pharmaceutical formulationscomprising particles with a substantially non-hygroscopicinner crystalline core and an outer coating comprising atleast one bioactive molecule and to methods for formingsaid particles. An aqueous solution comprisingcoprecipitant molecules and bioactive molecules isprovided. The coprecipitant and the bioactive moleculesin solution are admixed with a greater volume of a watermiscible organic solvent capable of substantiallyprecipitating the coprecipitant and the bioactivemolecules wherein the particles include at least aportion of the bioactive molecules. The particles maythen optionally be isolated from the organic solvent.
