The present invention is a lighting device for raising a plant, including a red LED having an emission wavelength between 600 and 680 nm and a far red LED or an infrared LED having an emission wavelength between 700 and 900 nm, characterized in that the red light emitted by the red LED and the far red light emitted by the far red LED or the infrared light emitted by the infrared LED can be alternately irradiated in a pulse state. As a result, the lighting device for raising a plant and a plant raising method which promote photosynthesis of a plant and grow the plant well are provided.
