PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an absorbent article provided with a surface sheet that improves liquid diffusion and absorption, is full of a stereoscopic effect and has a high cushioning property.SOLUTION: The surface sheet 3 comprises nonwoven fabric of thermally adhesive fibers, and recessed parts 8 and projected parts 7 are alternately and adjacently formed by imparting emboss in a prescribed pattern. When manufacturing the surface sheet 3, by using an emboss roll which is constituted of a first emboss roll 10 where many projected parts 10a and recessed parts 10b are arrayed and a second emboss roll 11 where many projected parts 11a and recessed parts 11b are arrayed and which is set such that the projected parts 10a of the first emboss roll 10 and the recessed parts 11b of the second emboss roll 11 are brought into contact with each other or brought close to each other in a state that the first emboss roll 10 is engaged with the second emboss roll 11, and by making the surface sheet 3 pass through between the first emboss roll 10 and the second emboss roll 11, the recessed parts 8 and the projected parts 7 of the surface sheet 3 are formed.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】液の拡散性及び吸収性を高めるとともに、立体感に富み、高いクッション性を有する表面シートを備えた吸収性物品の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】表面シート3は熱融着性繊維の不織布からなり、所定パターンでエンボスが付与されることにより凹部8及び凸部7が交互に隣接形成される。表面シート3の製造に際しては、凸状部10aと凹状部10bとが多数配列された第1エンボスロール10と、凸状部11aと凹状部11bとが多数配列された第2エンボスロール11とから構成されるとともに、第1エンボスロール10と第2エンボスロール11とを噛み合わせた状態で、第1エンボスロール10の凸状部10aと第2エンボスロール11の凹状部11bとが接触するか近接するように設定されたエンボスロールを用いて、これら第1エンボスロール10と第2エンボスロール11との間を通過させることにより表面シート3の凹部8及び凸部7を形成する。【選択図】図6
