PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam distillation extract, extracted from laver, a seaweed, and having a high effect of maintaining health, antiaging and preventing geriatric diseases.SOLUTION: A steam distillation extract contains a compound having an effect of warming up a body is prepared by leading steam which has been applied to laver after drying or parched laver after drying to a heat resistance hose made of silicone, cooling the hose from above, and concentrating the steam. The extract has an effect of preventing geriatric diseases, preventing antiaging and dieting by warming up reaction of a body given by either one of or both of terpene and dimethyl sulfide being the components contained in laver.
