A method for affecting balanced brain functioning with relational ambient sound is disclosed. During the process of balancing the brains activity, an ambient sound is played for the subject to hear. The subjects brain develops a relationship between the process of bringing the brain to a balanced state and the ambient sound. As a result of this relationship, balanced brain functioning may then be affected by exposing the subject to that same ambient sound.
