The unit (1), mobile or transportable, is intended to accommodate one or more patients inhaling air laden with allergen particles for allergic challenge. This unit comprises: - a confined exposure compartment (4), containing air charged with allergen particles and intended to accommodate the patients to be exposed； - an airlock (8) through which patients enter or leave the exposure compartment； an allergen injection device (19) which produces a flow of allergen particles； an air treatment system (20) which sucks in the outside air and processes it to form an air stream free of allergens； and a mixing chamber (22), in which the flow of allergen particles and the flow of air containing no allergens mix, and which communicates with the exposure compartment to send particulate laden air therein of allergens resulting from the mixture.
