The present invention relates to an ultraviolet irradiation device capable of effectively sterilizing or curing an object to be irradiated, and an ultraviolet irradiation method thereof. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the ultraviolet irradiation device comprises: a body including a reception unit； a plurality of light sources disposed on at least one inner surface of the reception unit and spaced apart from each other； a detection unit detecting the object to be irradiated disposed in the reception unit； and a dimming unit controlling the intensity of light of each of the plurality of light sources. The plurality of light sources include an ultraviolet light emitting diode (LED) and are spaced apart from the object to be irradiated in one direction, and each of the plurality of light sources irradiates ultraviolet light of different intensities in accordance with an interval in the one direction from the object to be irradiated. Moreover, the ultraviolet irradiation method comprises the steps of: arranging the object to be irradiated in the reception unit of the body； allowing the detection unit to detect the shape of the object to be irradiated； and irradiating the ultraviolet light to the object to be irradiated wherein the step of irradiating the ultraviolet light is a step of using the plurality of light sources arranged in the reception unit to irradiate the ultraviolet light to the object to be irradiated.
