The node support element (72) is located within the distal portion of the shaft (20) and surrounds the waveguide (50) at the most distal acoustic node of the waveguide (50). The node support element (72) includes a support portion (330) aligned with the most distal acoustic node and a sealing portion (332) extending axially from the support portion (330). The support portion (330) is configured to engage the inner surface of the shaft (20) and be coaxially aligned with the shaft axis to support the waveguide (50).
