The invention relates to the use of the amplification of SETDB1 gene in lung cancer patients as predictive marker for the determination of the response to a SETDB1 antagonist, particularly to a SETDB1 -specific RNAi or to mithramycin. The invention relates to methods of treatment, methods for predicting the clinical response to a SETDB1 antagonist and methods for selecting a lung cancer patient for being treated with a SETDB1 antagonist based on the detection of SETDB1 gene amplification.La présente invention concerne lutilisation de lamplification du gène SETDB1 chez des patients atteints dun cancer du poumon en tant que marqueur prédictif pour déterminer la réponse à un agoniste de SETDB1, en particulier un ARNi spécifique de SETDB1 ou à la mithramycine. Linvention concerne également des méthodes de traitement, des méthodes pour prédire la réponse clinique à un antagoniste de SETDB1 et des méthodes pour sélectionner un patient atteint dun cancer du poumon afin de le traiter avec un antagoniste de SETDB1 sur la base de la détection de lamplification du gène SETDB1.
