FIELD: hygiene.SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods for preparing personal care compositions, such as dentifrices. Methods include the steps of a) forming in a mixing tank, a premix having a lower viscosity than a packaged personal care composition, wherein the viscosity of the premix in the mixing tank is in the range from 0.01 to 10 PA⋅s at sampling rate of 10 s-1; b) transferring the premix from the mixing tank to a high-energy dispersing device suitable for transferring energy density from 0.5 to 11 kW / kg / s; c) introducing a rheology modifier into the premix; d) deaerating the premix and e) packaging the premix to obtain a personal care composition. In one embodiment of the method for preparing a personal care composition, the premix is deaerated using an integrated deaeration device; wherein the integrated deaeration device is located in the immediate vicinity of the high-energy dispersing device, and the pressure difference between the high-energy dispersing device and the integrated deaeration device is less than the pressure head of the high-energy dispersing device.
