The hedge cutter has scissor blades (21,25) with several cutting edges (22,26) and slits (23,27) along the entire length of each of the blades. The spacing of the groups of cutting edges is the same as the spacing of the groups of slits. The slits of the blades are formed in succession in one row along the longitudinal direction of each of the blades and the cutting edges are formed in succession on both sides along the longitudinal direction of each of the blades. Upper and lower blades can be arranged above each other in a pair. A blade support plate with several inner screw threads is mounted on the top side of the upper blade.
