PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost chewable tablet having no bad smell that is suitable for use in periodontitis, xerostomia and the like in a human body, and for use as a sports supplement.SOLUTION: A chewable tablet 1 of the invention is a chewable tablet which includes an astaxanthin component, xylitol, and an excipient. The astaxanthin component is naturally derived astaxanthin oil 2, and the chewable tablet is dissolved or disintegrated by a saliva component. Therefore, the astaxanthin oil stays in the oral cavity, and touches the periodontium and intraoral mucosa or is absorbed through the mucosa to exert medicinal effects of astaxanthin. After the chewable tablet was dissolved or disintegrated, the astaxanthin which has not been absorbed in the oral cavity passes through the throat and moves into the stomach, and absorbed through the digestive tract to exert the medicinal effects.
