Independent claims are included for: (1) an ester of 2-butyl-1-octanol with: optionally saturated 2-36C-carboxylic acid with exception of 2-butyloctyl-octanoate, 2-butyloctyl-decanoate, 2- butyloctyl-hexadecanoate, 2-butyloctyl-octadecanoate and 2-butyloctyl-9(Z)-octadecenoate and optionally saturated 2-36C-dicarboxylic acid with exception of 2-butyloctyl-pentane diacid diester, 2-butyloctyl-(2,2-dimethyl)-pen tane diacid diester, 2-butyloctyl-hexane diacid diester and 2-butyloctyl-octane diacid diester (2) the preparation of ester comprising reacting a mixture containing 2-butyl octanol and at least an optionally saturated 2-36C-carboxylic acid or 2-36C-dicarboxylic acid and (3) a cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical composition comprising at least an ester of 2-butyl-1-octanol with optionally saturated 2-36C-carboxylic acid or 2-36C-dicarboxylic acid, preferably at least an ester of 2-butyloctanol with optionally saturated 2-18C-carboxylic acid- or 2-18C-dicarboxylic acid, and at least an emulsifier, surfactant, wax component, polymer and/or other oil bodies.本発明は、化粧品および/または医薬品における、2-ブチルオクタノールとC2~C36カルボン酸またはC2~C36ジカルボン酸とのエステルの使用に関する。該化合物は、特に明るい感覚を特徴とする。
