A tunicate tending and harvesting system for the tending and harvesting of tunicates(15) grown on at least one elongated, suspended growth surface (7) is disclosed. The system comprises a tending and harvesting machine (14), the machine (14) comprising at least a first and a second treatment stage, and means for moving theat least one growth surface (7) sequentially through the treatment stages. Further, a tunicate tending and harvesting method for the tending and harvesting of tunicates grown on at least one elongated suspended growth surface (7) is disclosed.
