[Abstract][Problem] In view of the above circumstances, the purpose of the present invention is to provide: an aqueous dispersion which contains a pigment for cosmetic preparations, while being stable over time, and which enables the achievement of a stable cosmetic preparation that is free from caking and forms a coating film that has sufficient water resistance (water repellency)； and a method for producing this aqueous dispersion. [Solution] The present invention provides an aqueous dispersion which contains: a pigment for cosmetic preparations, which is surface-silylated with alkyltrialkoxysilane； water； and hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose phthalate. The present invention preferably provides the aqueous dispersion wherein the pigment for cosmetic preparations is composed of at least one substance that is selected from the group consisting of titanium oxide, zinc oxide, ultramarine and titanium dioxide-coated mica. In addition, the present invention provides a method for producing an aqueous dispersion that contains the pigment for cosmetic preparations, said pigment being surface-silylated with alkyltrialkoxysilane.La présente invention vise à procurer : une dispersion aqueuse qui contient un pigment pour des préparations cosmétiques, tout en étant stable dans le temps, et qui permet d'obtenir une préparation cosmétique stable dépourvue d'agglomération formant un film de revêtement qui présente une résistance à l'eau suffisante (hydrophobie) ； et un procédé de production de cette dispersion aqueuse.
