PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agricultural vehicle and a vehicle control method in which automatic traveling can be made with higher accuracy.SOLUTION: An agricultural vehicle includes a steering device, a detection mechanism 20 for detecting a distance between a reference wall existing at the side of the agricultural vehicle 10 and the agricultural vehicle 10, and a control unit 100 for controlling the steering device so as to maintain the distance detected by the detection mechanism 20 in a target distance. The position detection mechanism 20 is provided with a forward contact part 24b and a rearward contact part 24a at the side face of the agricultural vehicle 10, and detects a movement amount with potentiometers 30, 30. The control unit 100 derives the distances from the side face of agricultural vehicle 10 to the reference wall and the posture of the agricultural vehicle 10 based on detection data concerning the movement amount outputted by the potentiometers 30, 30, and determines a control amount of the steering device so as to maintain the distance from the side face of the agricultural vehicle 10 to the reference wall in the target distance based on the derived distance and posture.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3【課題】より精度良く自動走行することができる農業用車両および車両制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】操舵装置と、農業用車両１０の側方に存在する基準壁と農業用車両１０との距離を検出する検出機構２０と、検出機構２０により検出された距離を目標距離に維持するように操舵装置を制御する制御部１００とを備える。位置検出機構２０は農業用車両１０の側面に前方接触部２４ｂと後方接触部２４ａとを設けてポテンショメータ３０、３０で移動量を検出し、制御部１００は、ポテンショメータ３０、３０により出力された移動量に関する検出データに基づいて、農業用車両１０の側面から基準壁までの距離と、農業用車両１０の姿勢とを導出し、導出した距離および姿勢に基づいて、農業用車両１０の側面から基準壁までの距離目標距離に維持するようにステアリング装置の制御量を決定する。【選択図】図３
