The present invention relates to a novel hemostatic composition notably useful to ensure good hemostasis and maintain the sulcular opening after a gingival eviction procedure. According to the invention, this composition is in the form of an extrudable hydrophilic paste and contains, expressed as percentage by weight relative to the total weight of said composition: between 5 and 15% of an astringent, preferably aluminum chloride； between 2 and 15% of kaolinitic clay, preferably kaolin； between 10 and 20% of a texturizing agent comprising one (or more) naturally-occurring polysaccharide(s) with gelling or thickening power optionally combined with plant fibers； between 50 and 70% of water； between 0 and 20% of a humectant； the total quantity of water and humectant being comprised between 55 and 75% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.La présente invention a pour objet une nouvelle composition hémostatique notamment utile pour assurer une bonne hémostase et maintenir l'ouverture sulculaire après une procédure d'éviction gingivale. Selon l'invention, cette composition se présente sous la forme d'une pâte hydrophile extrudable et contient, exprimé en pourcentage en masse rapporté à la masse totale de ladite composition : entre 5 et 15 % d'un agent astringent, de préférence le chlorure d'aluminium； entre 2 et 15 % d'argile kaolinique, de préférence de kaolin； entre 10 et 20 % d'un agent de texture comprenant un (ou plusieurs) polysaccharide(s) d'origine naturelle présentant un pouvoir gélifiant ou épaississant éventuellement associé(s) à des fibres végétales； entre 50 et 70 % d'eau； entre 0 et 20 % d'un agent humectant； la quantité totale d'eau et d'agent humectant étant comprise entre 55 et 75 % en masse rapportée à la masse totale de la composition.
