A system for enhancing user mobility can include a support member configured to engage a posterior region of a user and a mast coupled to the support member. The mast can be at least partially lifted and repositioned when the users weight is shifted to a mobile leg of the user, thereby allowing the user to relocate the mast according to an intended direction of movement. The mast is further configured to receive a force exerted on the support member by the user when the weight of the user is shifted away from the mobile leg of the user, thereby enabling the mobile leg of the user to move from a first location to a second location while the weight of the user is shifted from the mobile leg of the user to the mast via the support member.
