The present invention is directed towards a toilet seat comprising: a support, a seat mounted on the support, a lifting means enabling vertically adjusting the seat in view of the support from a first position to a second position, wherein the surface of the seat when positioned in the first position is substantially parallel to the surface of the seat when positioned in the second position and that said lifting means are allowing exerting an upwardly directed force on the seat of at least 500 N for lifting the seat from the first position to the second position higher than the first position.
