This invention is related to a biomaterial which can be used in treatment of osteochondral bone defects and particularly in the treatment of defects of bone covered with hyaline cartilage. The biomaterial (1) of the present invention in its basic form comprises a body (2) manufactured from a biocompatible material, grooves (3) which enable advancing in the defect area (11) on the body (2), a space (4) in the body (2) which increases the contact area with the surrounding tissue and at least one channel (5) which is opened to the space (4) and which enables the blood to be transferred into the medium and enables the toxic materials to be removed from the medium.
