The server comprises a first module for identifying a user on the basis of information from a low resolution camera of the client device identifying a client from a display of the client device of the client to be identified and an associated first identification level database. The device can be used both for proof of identity of a client, and for carrying out client payments, crediting rewards to a client and providing a client with discounts. According to the invention, the server additionally comprises a second module for identifying a client to be identified on the basis of biometric data and an associated second identification level biometric database.
