A disinfection and/or cleaning article comprising a cloth of a nonwoven textile material containing at least 30% by weight of viscose, rayon and/or cellulose fibers, which is impregnated with a aqueous disinfectant composition is disclosed. The aqueous disinfection composition impregnated onto the wipes comprises one or more non-ionic or amphoteric disinfecting agents； one or more surfactants； a nonfoaming solvent and a complexing agent. The sum of the components does not exceed 6,000 ppm in the resulting disinfectant aqueous composition. A method for disinfecting a surface or tools or instruments is also disclosed. The disinfection and/or cleaning article reduces the amount of disinfectant applied to the surfaces of tools without compromising the disinfecting efficacy.
