The present disclosure describes methods of treating conditions, including bacterial infections and cancer, using photosensitive compounds that can be activated when exposed to white light. Photosensitive compounds can also interact synergistically with antibiotics used simultaneously to kill drug-resistant bacteria. Photosensitive compounds can also be used to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
