The present invention relates to a composition and a functional health food for preventing and treating male infertility by using a mixed herbal mixture. Through an in vitro sperm mobility promotion effect evaluation method for investigating effects of an herbal extract of Monrinda officinalis, Cuscuta seed, and/or Allium cepa on changes of sperm count and mobility in the human semen, it was verified that the samples of the present invention increased sperm mobility. In addition, through an in vivo varicocele animal model evaluation method for investigating effects of the herbal extract on changes of sperm count and mobility in an in vivo varicocele animal model, it was verified that the samples of the present invention increased the sperm count in the semen obtained from spermiducts of the sample-administered groups among the varicocele-induced groups. Therefore, the present invention can be usefully used as a pharmaceutical composition, a functional health food, and a dietary supplement for preventing and treating male infertility.본 발명은 혼합 생약 추출물을 이용한 남성 불임증 예방 및 치료용 조성물 및 건강기능식품에 대한 것이다. 본 발명의 파극천, 토사자및/또는 양파 생약 추출물은 사람정액의 정자수와 운동성 변화에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 시험관내 (Invitro) 정자 운동 증진 효능 평가법 실험을 통하여 본 발명의 시료들이 정자 운동성을 증가시킴을 확인하였으며, 생체내 (InVivo) 정계 정맥류 동물모델에서의 정자수와 운동성 변화에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 생체내 (InVivo) 정계 정맥류 동물모델 평가법을 통하여 본 발명의 시료들이 정계 정맥류 유발군 중 시료 투여군의 정관에서 얻어진 정액에서 정자 수가 증가함을 확인하여 남성 불임증의 예방 및 치료를 위한 약학 조성물, 건강기능식품 및 건강보조식품에 유용하게 이용될 수 있다.
