The hair treatment method of the present invention is characterized in that a hair treatment agent is composed of a first permanent waving agent containing at least a reductant, and a second permanent waving agent containing at least an oxidant, wherein the reductant changes the conformation change of the -SS- bond present in the hair, and thus, such a hair treatment agent is used to treat the hair under the steam having relative humidity of 80-100% and a temperature of 20-60°C.
