PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stand-up support chair storing a self-biasing force that is useful for those who want to stand ones own despite of their weak leg muscles, and that have extremely pursued a simple and robust mechanism requiring no maintenance.SOLUTION: In the chair, a seat is held vertically liftably, being guided by support legs or a backrest, and the seat uses a compression coil spring as an elastic member to support the seat. A large coil spring is employed so as to exert a sufficient spring reaction force within a lifting range, and the large coil spring is mounted in a compressed state such that the reaction force is 30% or more to 65% or less of the total load in a standby state. In order to prevent from deforming a coil form and keep the attitude of the coil itself, the outer diameter of the coil is 150 mm or more to 300 mm or less, and the inner or outer diameters are restrained over a height of at least 55 mm in holding parts of the upper and lower ends.
