Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Behandlung rieselfähiger Produkte aus vereinzelbaren Partikeln, vorzugsweise Saatgut, mit ultravioletter Strahlung. Bei dem Verfahren wird ein transparenter Produktstrom in einem Produktführungskanal durch das von mindestens einer UV-Quelle erzeugte Strahlungsfeld bei Unter- oder Überdruck unter Nutzung der Schwerkraft geführt. Die Führung des Produktstromes erfolgt mittels eines beschleunigten Gasstromes derart, dass dessen Bewegung in Betrag und Richtung der beschleunigten Bewegung entspricht, die die in ihm fallenden Partikel aufgrund der Erdbeschleunigung ausführen.
