PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of controlling an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus in response to fine movement of a probe.SOLUTION: The ultrasound diagnostic apparatus comprises: a frame data generation unit (phasing addition unit 22) for time-sequentially generating frame data about a subject 18, based on ultrasound waves reflected off the subject 18 and received by a probe 14 and a movement detection unit 30 for detecting the movement of the probe 14 on the subject 18, based on the time-sequentially generated frame data. The ultrasound diagnostic apparatus operates in either state of a normal state in which images based on the frame data are displayed on a display unit 52 and a gesture receiving state in which a command is given to the ultrasound diagnostic apparatus, based on the movement of the probe 14 detected by the movement detection unit 30.
