The invention relates to an apparatus for water labor and delivery in water comprising a tub sized to accommodate a woman in labor and a bed suitable for supporting the woman in labor. Said bed is movable relative to the tub in a vertical direction (V) of the apparatus substantially perpendicular to the bottom of the tub between a lowered position in which the bed is close to said bottom, and a raised position in which the bed is spaced from the bottom and arranged beyond a peripheral edge of the tub. The bed is also movable relative to the tub in a longitudinal direction (L), substantially perpendicular to the vertical direction (V), between an internal position in which it is inside the periphery of the tub, and an external position in which is at least partially beyond the periphery of the tub.
