A bird feeder 400, comprising a housing 401 containing bird feed. The housing comprises a first end 402 and a second end located opposite to the first end. The first end and the second end each have an opening to allow a bird to feed from bird feed contained in the housing. The bird feeder comprises securing 403 means enabling the bird feeder to be secured in position. The securing means may be a continuous loop of string that passes through the housing or a fixing bracket. The housing may having a circular, oval , square, rectangular, triangular, pentagonal, heptagonal, hexagonal or octagonal cross section. The housing may be transparent and made from a biodegradable material or PET. The housing may house a bird feed block or may be packed with bird seed.
