PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a half-dry smell suppressor that has excellent ability to suppress half-dry smell generated from a textile product.SOLUTION: A half-dry smell suppressor includes an 8-12C straight chain aliphatic aldehyde such as dodecanal, undecanal, 10-undecenal, or decanal, and suppresses production of 4-methyl-3-hexenic acid generated from a half-dry fabric. A method for suppressing half-dry smell suppresses generation of half-dry smell from a textile product by contacting a composition for suppressing production of 4-methyl-3-hexenic acid with the textile product.
