The invention provides, inter alia, methods, kits, and pharmaceutical compositions for treating or ameliorating cancer effects in a subject in need of treating or ameliorating cancer effects. The method comprises subjecting a subject to an effective amount of (i) a first anticancer agent that is BVD-523 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and (ii) a type 2 MEK inhibitor or other MEK. Administering a second anticancer agent that is an inhibitor, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, to treat or ameliorate the effects of cancer.
