The present invention relates to a radiation irradiation apparatus and a safety inspection apparatus. The radiation irradiation apparatus includes a radiation source for providing radiation, a chamber for receiving the radiation source, and an operating part which is connected to the chamber. The radiation source includes a shielding housing which discharges the radiation to the outside through the opening part and a moving mechanism which moves the radiation source at a first position to discharge the radiation to the outside through the opening part by being aligned in the opening part and a second position to prevent the radiation from being discharged to the outside through the opening part by being separated from the opening part, with regard to the shielding housing.
