The present invention relates to a food composition comprising an Acer tegmentosum extract as an effective component for alleviating a fatty liver. The food composition can prevent and alleviate a fatty liver. The Acer tegmentosum extract is preferably extracted while having an aqueous ethanol solution as an extraction solvent. More preferably, the Acer tegmentosum extract can be obtained by extracting Acer tegmentosum tree at 80-100°C for 10-20 hours while using a 60-80% aqueous ethanol solution as an extraction solvent.
