A bed which comprises an adjustable back section 2 that is pivotally connected to a bed frame 1 with a lifting member 3 disposed between the back section and the bed frame. The lifting member includes a powered telescopic cylinder 31 which is pivotably connected to a connection portion 321 of a rotating shaft 32. The shaft comprising two ends connected to the bed frame and two support rods 322 formed on the rotating shaft. Each of the support rods has a guide wheel 323 which engages with a guide track 21 on the back section of the bed.
