Apparatus and methods for an intramedullary nail. Preferably, the nail includes three components, including two longitudinal sections that are slidable relative to one another, so as to not restrain any growth of the bone. A third threaded member is rotatably coupled to one of the sliding pieces, and the other of the sliding pieces includes a threaded end. The nail is threadably coupled to a bone.
