A surgical stapling device for joining portions of tissue, comprising: a handle assembly (12); a tubular body portion (14) supported at a distal end of the handle assembly (12), the tubular body portion having a staple cartridge assembly (16) containing a plurality of surgical staples within a pair of annular formations of staple receiving slots (62) formed on a surface thereof facing the fabric, the staple cartridge assembly defining a radial inner surface (60a) and a radial outer surface; an anvil assembly (30) at a distal end of the surgical stapling device, the anvil assembly having a rod (34) for removably connecting the anvil assembly to the tubular body portion (14), the assembly of which is juxtaposed anvil and the tubular body portion with respect to each other along the stem and arranged so that they approximate with respect to each other; a mounting structure (120) similar to a ring, in which the mounting structure is disposed within the radial inner surface of the staple cartridge assembly; and an annular buttress material (100) superimposed on the surface facing the fabric of the staple cartridge assembly (16), the annular buttress material defining an outer radial end edge that extends radially beyond the pair of annular groove formations staple receivers, and an inner radial end edge that extends through the mounting structure; characterized in that said device further comprises at least one suture (140) that secures the buttress material (100) to the mounting structure (120), and further characterized in that said mounting structure (120) similar to a ring is sized to have an outer diameter that frictionally engages with the radial inner surface (60a) of the staple cartridge assembly (16) such that friction coupling prevents the mounting structure (120) from falling freely out of the assembly of staple cartridge (16).Un dispositivo grapador quirúrgico para unir porciones de tejido, que comprende: un conjunto de mango (12); una porción de cuerpo tubul
